Complex Profile Modifier: How to apply to a circle?

As above, simply need to adjust the diameter of a circular component in a column

I realise this wasnt possible in initial release but I am yet to commit to v27 and just wondering where its up to?

You can not apply modifiers to curved surfaces.

Weird...posted a reply yesterday and hasnt appeared

I thought that it would have been good for GS to progress modifiers with this. It would allow parametric assemblies ie bolt and rods to be used and greatly simplify

It was weird as I had a screenshot of v26 manual and the hope that the importance might be understood...then I submitted and said I had posted too many times so I copied the text and reposted an hour later and seemed to go through...no matter.
