topic How to extract data from elements inside zone boundaries? in Project data & BIM

Hello there!

I'm working in a new office, and now I need to create a finish schedule.

Usually, I define some properties and classifications as needed, map them to a zone, and generate a schedule showing those properties. This method works when the office has a practice of adding this information to the zones.

However, here the office uses the surfaces of the elements (such as the surfaces applied to walls, floors, etc.) to identify the finishes. So, I was wondering if there is a way to use a zone to extract this information from the elements within its boundaries. If I can retrieve that information, I could create a clean schedule that summarizes the finishes for a particular area.

I know it's possible to get the length of walls inside or touching the zone boundaries, but is there any way to extract other types of information from those elements?

I’ve attached a screenshot to show you what I get when I use a zone to search for the data I need from the elements inside the zone. However, since not all elements share the same properties, I can’t display the information without some "blank spaces." The areas highlighted in red are the ones containing the information I need to show.

Operating system used: Windows 10 22H2
