If you have a lot of files being hotlink'd into a single host, and dont want any overlap (Complex profiles displaying differently is never ideal), The index numbers with large gaps between in each file, that has been my attempt to try andprevent that attribute chaos.

In those files i usually try to leave a 1,000 or 2,000 buffer. If for whatever reason there are 5 or 6 files, that would push the index's out in the 10,000 range

I have never gone over that personally, though.

Largest attribute index number?

What is the largest attribute index number one can use for layers?

I just tried reindexing to 9999999999 and it gave me 1410065407. I then tried 8888888888 and it gave me 298954296.

Why would you want/need numbers that large?

I think you can only see a maximum of 5 or 6 digits in the attribute manager.
