Thanks everyone. I had re-assigned stretch but had not removed the command H that is assigned by default. I had created this work environment on a PC where it wasn't an issue. Expose is great but I guess those old habits die hard and I still find myself using command H .

I loose my command H quick key for hiding the Archicad after exporting my work environment. Have other Mac users experienced this problem? Anyway to get it back? I use command H all the time, but would also like to be able to export my work environment. Thanks for any feedback.

That's a system command, not an ArchiCAD command. Do you mean to say it stops working or disappears from your list?

Not for me.

Say what?

As soon as I hit command-H ArchiCAD disappears.

Command-H no longer on USA version command list - always using the doggie pallet.

[Better than saying feline palette, but said instead with a word changed to improve alliteration - sort of like enjoying vegetarian dishes but preferring them with meat.]

For some reason I changed the shortcut for stretch. So maybe it does work now. I'll Have to check.

EDIT: sure enough command H hides Archicad. (probably why I had to assign a short cut for stretch)- thanks wonderboy:

My command H is there if I do a new and reset and load the default work environment. I can update parts of my work environment (everything except "command layout schemes" and the command H (for Hide) is available to me. However if I export a new work environment, the shortcut is no longer available. The shortcut functions correctly in all other applications.

Mike:

I too lost the ability to Hide using command H (It's my stretch shortcut).

You probably already know this (it doesn't exactly "hide" Archicad or mean to solve your issue), but .... do you use the Expose' system preference? I use it all the time to "hide" Archicad (and everything else). F9-F10-F11 or set it for use with Active screen corners.

A bit off topic, but I just learned this tip for OS X: To zip/compress files and folders I always opened "Stuffit" and dragged file/folders to it.

Instead, you can compress from the finder window with: Create Archive of "file/folder".

Folks:

You can also look at:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... hide#23162">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=23162&highlight=hide#23162</LINK_TEXT>

From my dim memory: If you started with a recent default keyboard shortcut scheme (ArchiCAD 8 or 9), it was not possible to assign Command H to anything (the application will hide when imputing the key combination in the Work Environment, of course). For users wanting Command H for Stretch (ArchiCAD 5 or 6), they needed to go to the Work Environment and start with an older scheme that used Command H by default. I think if you start with an older scheme, Command H is gone for Hiding ArchiCAD, and will not come back even if you remove Command H from a keyboard shortcut. I just tried exporting my own Profile, but Command H remained for hiding ArchiCAD.

Hope this helps.
