Thanks for your speedy reply.
I find following instructions at times baffling. Click on the Origin button in Coordinate box... I want to verify that the Origin button is the same as the User Origin button located in the bottom left corner directly left of the Set Skewed Grid button. good if yes.

Now I have my Absolute Origin point established. I draw a shape and then want to add a different point from which to work ( I imagine there are many designs that are made easier using the Relative Origin point. ).

Do I make the Relative Origin point simply by pressing the Delta button and then clicking on the page where I want it placed ?

When I open Archicad the fixed point (Absolute Origin) is already established. It is often times in a location that needs to be changed, but I find after drawing a few Relative Origin points the Coordinate box indicates the point where the Absolute Origin was when the program opened. How is the Absolute Origin point moved when opening the program and how are Relative Origin points established with respect to the Absolute Origin. Please do not direct me to page 32 of Training Manual 1

And why would we not?

Click on the origin button in your coordinate box, and then click where you want your user origin to be. Done.

What the coordinates read, depends on the fact whether they are realtive or absoulte (the delta button in front pressedor not).
