Work Environments AC9 to PM9

I thought you would be able to export Work Environments from AC9 and import into PM9 so that your shortcuts, etc were the same. It does not appear to be the case. I have set up my WE in AC, exported and when I try to import into PM it does not allow me to choose the file I jst exported.

Yes, have read that. It's not quite the same issue I am talking about. I am not trying to set up company defaults. I just want to use my same keyboard shortcuts in PM & AC. With the new WE profiles, I thought I could make one in AC and import into PM. I have even tried to copy the .xml file in my AC WE profile folder into my PM AC profile folder but it still doesn't work. Doesn't allow me to select this file when I click import, nor does it show up as a selectable profile option when I relaunch PM. It appears that they are not compatible files at all.

Found it. You can import the shortcut scheme only, not the entire WE profile. Under the shortcut schemes folder in the WE dialog, there is a second import button, to import shortcut schemes from AC directly. Exactly what I was looking for. So in AC you export just the shortcut scheme as an xml file and then import in PM using this button.

are we able to bring our shortcuts up from AC8.1 into the new WE's? I'm still trying to get my wibu key update to work, but having our shortcuts would be useful...

as far as i'm aware: no, sorry. the shortcuts are stored in a different way now, (XML for future portability and BIN/binary for archiCAD to use them).

i think you'll have to start again, but at least you can take comfort in knowing that you'll be able to apply them cross-office, cross-platform, cross-upgrade for now and forever . . .
