Yeah, I noticed the little arrow just before making the post. Not sure why it is collapsable, as I see no advantage of the "view all".

It does seem convenient for editing attributes since you can just double click on the relevant one to open it's dialogue. It just needs an option to view side by side when importing and attribute filtering when something is selected that were available with the Attribute Manager. The features lost during reinvention would make it actually useful outside of initial setup...

What is the point of the Attribute Pallete, other than the fact that it can handle folders and does not require a dialogue refresh when reindexing? The loss of the side by side comparison seems like a backwards move...

Is there some advantage in being able to see every single attribute in a single list?

Originally it was going to replace the old Attribute Manager completely, but a few of us complained loudly during testing.

Thankfully we were listened to and the old manager remains.

One good thing about the palette is that you do not have to close it to continue working in Archicad.

It also allows for the new attribute folders, which the old manager does not.

I am still unsure of the folders, but the search makes it easy to find anything anywhere.

One good thing about the palette is that you do not have to close it to continue working in Archicad.

It does not filter or even highlight the attributes of selected elements, nor does it tell you which attributes are currently in use within the file, so I am not sure what that achieves... All of that utility still requires you to use the old dialogues...

The old manager tells you what has been used but that could be in the model, in a favourite or just the default setting of a tool.

It doesn't highlight what you have selected, that is the attribute editors.

You can double click them in the new palette to open the attribute editor, which is another nice touch.

While I share the sentiment that it is absolutely not useful for synchronising attributes over different files or therelike (precisely because it misses the side-by-side view) I actually think it is a great addition to Archicad for the daily workflow. Just because it is a palette. That simple.

Sadly too many things are still dialogs in Archicad – an outdated UI trope in my opinion.

Also btw: This thing at the top is a fly out list... Easy to miss.

This gives you a flat list like in the Attribute Manager, if you prefer that.
