As a general contractor, I’m exploring how to leverage Archicad’s BIM tools for more accurate cost estimation, especially when dealing with unforeseen site conditions like poor soil or hidden utilities. What workflows or add-ons do you recommend for integrating real-time cost data and contingency planning into Archicad models to minimize overruns? Any tips for aligning these estimates with project schedules in fast-paced commercial jobs?

We have found that good communication with the client, a good spreadsheet (feeded with quality info from the 3d model) and good documentation of all processes, beats many times the effort it takes in trying to model and schedule everything. Still, we would be also be very interested in any methods that involve real time estimates.
