topic Archicad 29 macOS – URL2 / PDF2 menu items no longer functional in Project data & BIM

In Archicad 28 and earlier (macOS), it was possible to use the built-in URL2 files and PDF2 files menu items by placing content into WWWLinks2 / Documentation2 folders inside the Archicad application. This allowed office PDFs and web links to be integrated directly into custom menus and toolbars.

In Archicad 29 on macOS, the application bundle is sealed and no longer writable, so this workflow no longer works. The URL2 / PDF2 menu items are still visible in Work Environment but cannot be populated, and it is no longer possible to add custom link/file commands in Archicad 29 app folder.

Question to Graphisoft:

Is there an official replacement workflow for URL2 / PDF2 on macOS?

Is there any supported way to add custom PDF / URL commands to menus or toolbars (outside the app bundle)?

This feature was very useful for office standards, regulations, and internal documentation, and its removal significantly affects established workflows.

Thanks for clarification.

Operating system used: Mac Apple Silicon Tahoe 26.2

Still works for me on Sequoia (15.7) and AC 29.

Dumb question, but did you restart Archicad? It will not do a live refresh. The contents are only fetched at program start.

Yes, I did all the usual troubleshooting (multiple Archicad restarts, full system restart, fresh WE profile, permission checks). This is not a live-refresh issue.

In my case on macOS + Archicad 29, the folders cannot actually be written into the app bundle anymore (cannot paste folders in app folder).

It just might be Tahoe - AC29 combo.
