I've just realized I can easily do this by filling in the Zone's Name parameter, d'oh.

For some reason relating to how the various fields from Zones come into the Zone Label 27 stamp, so far I had kept all names blank, only using 'Apartment ID', which is accessible via the Zone Settings > Settings > Zone Identification.... but now I am reconsidering how necessary this was, if at all.

Extract wall's zone in Surface Schedule - Possible?

I have used Wall elements to model PVC cladding in wetrooms in a large care home.

I've set up a Surfaces Schedule to list the surface areas of these PVC walls. It's working fine but it's listing all the surface area and wall length information in one single table.

Is it possible to also track information from the Zone in which each wall is located in the project? So I can then group by Wetroom and make the table more easily readable?

I did search quickly in the forum and couldn't locate an answer - apologies if I've missed it. I'm in a bit of haste to finish this thing today - thanks guys.

I've just thought to add a Property which I created, 'Room ID', associated with Wall elements. Then, to select all the walls that make the PVC cladding in one wetroom, and assign them a room ID (i.e. the wetroom's code in my project, to keep things simple). Then I can track that one, summarize etc.

If there's an easier/cleverer way, please do post below - many thanks.

Can you post a sketch that would indicate the desired result in a schedule.

Just to see how you want the data structured.

Hi Laszlo, here are screenshots of part of the plan and the corresponding PVC sheets schedule. The red lines are 1cm-thick walls, representing the PVC cladding internally in each wetroom:

Like I said, job done for now; but I resorted to manually tagging the Wall elements representing the PVC sheets of one room by a parameter I set up. Not too tedious, but it is manual work so there is room for error in reporting.

Is there a way to extract from an element the ID of the Zone in which it sits?

If you set the Wall's Relation to Zones field to "No Effect on Zones", then the Zone will not consider those PVC Walls as Zone boundary.

Then, you can use the Related Zone Number and Related Zone Name parameters in the Surface Schedule to get the info you need.
