Button to activate or deactivate 3d editting plane.

Switching the 3D editing plane on and off can be really annoying. Having to dig through Work Environment options to toggle it is far from ideal. It would be so much better to just activate the editing plane when needed by pressing a button in a palette, and then turn it off once editing is done. This seems like a simple feature to implement and would make working in Archicad infinitely more enjoyable.

You can assign a keyboard shortcut for it, too.

Yes, the command is called "Editing Plane Display" and it is already available in the View menu. You can also assign keyboard shortcut to it in the Work Environment.

For my staff, I made a custom toolbar that includes that, and a lot of other useful things...

To set up a custom toolbar...

Go to Work environment->Command Layout Schemes-> Toolbars

Go to Toolbar Options->New Toolbar

In the list in the middle find the commands/buttons you want to add...

In older versions you click in the middle list and type, in Archicad 27 and above you can use the search field.

The hardest part is knowing the names of the commands/buttons you want to add.

You see you can also add menu groups as well.

In the example below tracker options - Gravity and Trace are menus with sub commands.

The menu shown above was for a 1920 wide screen(compact) when using laptops or doing presentations,

The example below is for a 2560 wide screen, so there are more options in the list below.

For me I added....

And remember to save it as a command scheme layout

And remember to save it as part of your active work environment, or the toolbar will not be available in the Windows->tool bars menu

An efficient work environment can save you a lot of time.
