Replace door thickness on just the door schedule with Expression Editor

I want to set up an expression so that if a door has a specific manufacturer, the door leaf thickness shows as "--" on our door schedule. I am brand new to using the expression editor, but no matter what I try, I can't get an expression that will let me replace this unit with text. Is this possible, or can you not replace the door/height/thickness for only some doors on just the door schedule?

The biggest issue here is that in Expression-defined Properties, there is no Leaf Thickness parameter for Doors that you could use. A Door's Leaf Thickness parameter is a parameter of that specific library part, not a parameter that is available in the Property Manager. Unfortunately, library part parameters cannot be used in Property Expressions, it has not been developed as a feature.

I applied myself a bit more to this problem and how it could be done, and I made a discovery with the help of my AI friend, Claude.

There is a GitHub repo containing a free Archicad Add-On that can solve this situation for you. It is at:

This free Add-On offers the capability of syncing the value of library part parameters to Properties.

So, you can create a Property, set it to sync, and specify which library part parameter to synch from.

I tested it and it works. So, basically we have a way to bring the value of library part parameters into Properties with the help of this Add-On.

Download it and try it, and let me know how it works. If you get stuck, let me know and I will help you make it work.

1. Create Property to sync to. type the syncing code into the Description field. Make sure the Property has the same Data Type as the parameter (Length). Also, make it available for Door Classifications):

4. Run the Sync All or Sync the selection command of the SomeStuff menu, and the Property will get the value of the Leaf Thickness library part parameter of the Door (in this example):
