<R>I have an AC 9 visual legend file (similar to this <LINK_TEXT text="http://www.aecbytes.com/tipsandtricks/2 ... hicad.html">http://www.aecbytes.com/tipsandtricks/2006/issue13-archicad.html</LINK_TEXT> ) I now need to use that file in AC 11, is there an easy way to convert all the windows, doors & objects from the AC 9 Library into their appropriate AC 11 counterparts (i.e. “shower corner” becomes “shower corner 11” and “D2” becomes “D2 11”

I would rather not use the library subset since I want a nice new clean visual legend file using only AC 11 objects. Any way of doing this other than recreating my visual legend file.
IF the objects you used from the AC9 library have not changed (= have the same internal code number) in the AC11 library, this transition should be automatic - you open the file in AC11, make sure (through Library Manager) that you have unloaded the AC9 library and loaded the AC11 library, Save As [new filename], and you're done.

However, if objects are not identical, (perhaps revised by GS) they will not exchange automatically. You will have to select and replace them manually.

For some reason that is not happening! Both are US versions (the AC11 I am using right now is the trial version though) so I don’t understand why they shouldn’t have the same internal code number. The objects are identical as far as I can tell!
“D1” should just change to “D1 11” but it is not!
any idea why?
