<T>Has anyone every had experienced an issue in AC10 where all of the drawings that are placed on all of the layouts in file become unlinked? The problem is resolved by going to each one and right clicking and clicking link drawing to. Archicad will automatically find the correct view to link the drawing too, or just remembers it, either way it is a bit disconcerting due to the fact that had it gone unnoticed a print may have gone out without the drawings being up to date.</T>

If you select multiple views, can you still click the "Link to" button and point them to the right PLN?

I've seen that before. Usually it was due to a drive being unmounted or a path not available. Usually clicking "Check Status" after the drive was reconnected fixed them and, if not, then you could select all the files from a PLN and "Link To" the location.

The down side was that you had to link to each PLN file individually, so if you had 6 PLNs you had to click "Link to" for all the views from each one (OK, it's only 6 commands issued, but it's still annoying)

I've seen that happen before. Never in MY files of course, but it has been a bewildering thing to troubleshoot, I'd like to know what causes it....this in AC11 too...maybe there is an inadvertent shortcut for 'break all linked drawings' 😕

I have seen it a few times, and when you say it, I think it is only in teamwork files we had this problem.

Good to know it is not just me. Another linking problem I am encountering is that if you create a linked detail marker and link it to a placed drawing it will loose the link after a send and recieve, however if you link it to the first placed drawing of a view then it will be fine. Graphisoft is apparently already working on this as well.

Happens to me all the time. This was a bone of contention for me during beta 11, and it is still the same way (I guess I wasn't believed.. or they couldn't reproduce the issue.. with the same files?????). Granted, I am in a little different situation in that all my files were brought over from days long ago, but it is a pain in the arce. I am continually migrating files and too often they simply break links when changing windows.. at least the externally linked details. I can normally close the file, reopen and they are fine without relinking. So, try closing and reopening and that might work for you to.

ArchiCAD 11 Hotfix build 1086 fixes a bug that may cause similar problems. It's related to TeamWork: If Admin forces out a user that has layouts in his/her workspace, drawings on that layout may unlink themselves. This is - I believe- unique to ArchiCAD 11, though.

The other linking problem (marker linked to drawing on layout unlinks itself) is also fixed in 1086. this is not TeamWork specific.

Just for reference, I have never used teamwork (I work well alone), so my external links turning red must be from something else. Most often it occurs right after merging the old converted pmk file, which was changed from placed pmk's to hotlinks. I will be hopeful this eliminates my problem.
