Hi Steve,

Thanks for the response to this a while back. I'm revisiting this issue, and I'm wondering how you set your door jambs in the schedules to 4 9/16, etc... Do you type this in manually? The thickness on my schedule is defaulting to the full thickness of the wall composite, but I'd like for it to read the actual frame thickness of the window. In this example, the frame is set to 6 9/16", but on the schedule the thickness shows up as 7 3/8", which is the width of the wall.

See attached screenshots.

Door Schedule Wall Thickness

Does anybody know why the "wall thickness" in my door schedule is rounding up to 4" and 6" instead of showing up as 3 1/2" and 5 1/2"? My dimensioning settings are all set to round to nearest 1/8". Or, is there a better way to indicate jamb depth for doors? I noticed that when I add a column for "Nominal W x H x T size," it accurately shows 3 1/2" and 5 1/2". However, I want jamb depth/wall thickness to be its own column.

Thanks for any feedback you might have.

It might make very little differnece but I like to make my doors 4 9/16" or 5 9/16" since that is the size of door jambs sold in this area of the world. I still make the walls with the framing/core as 3 1/2" and 5 1/2" since that is the nominal dimension. It does not show up on the Plans, but it does let me show show the correct widths to order the jambs in the Interactive Schedules. And the reasons for that are related to how the Interactive Schedules are exorted as Excel file. Just a thought you might be interested in. The point of the Interactive Schedules I make are for the sake of ordering the materials. Using nominal dimensions for walls is ok so long as you are consistant about dimensioning face to face or center to center where it counts.

Yes. I do make the jambs 4 9/16, 5 9/16.... Graphically it is not a problem sicne the line thicknesses compensate for that well enough. One of the ways I do that sometimes is to make the tile of the Schedule inclued the jamb width.

But you can also display the Jamb Width in a cloumn or row in sixteenths

This I am always tying to keep in mind is that my Schedule needs to have all the same data that is needed to fill out the Door Order Form at the lumber yard. This is not the best example of that but you get the idea I am sure. Their forms are titled like this too

"Door Schedule - 4 9/16 Jambs" The useful Interactive Schedules are ideally made for the people who will be using them - and for what. Same for the entire set of plans really.

In your case, is your jamb depth a setting within your door object, or is it set in the schedule as something you manually type in? I am using an Archicad door (D1 Entrance 22), and the only parameter similar to jamb depth is frame depth. It looks like I can select the " Frame Thickness" field to add to the schedule, and it essentially does what I want it to. I just have to manually adjust the schedule to read "Jamb Depth." Is this your strategy as well?
