Archicad 24 wall recesses are not added to zones

Hello,

I have made my zones manually (the reason for this is that I need to add all door area to the room) in Archicad 23 and they automatically add windows to the area. However when I transferred my file to Archicad 24 and updated the zones, the window area was taken away, it only works if I change it to the automatic zone. Is there a way to fix this or I have to draw all the windows manually as well? Or maybe just go back to Archicad 23?

I wouldn't have thought it would be any different.
Are your zone preferences set the same?

Yes, they are!

You can see here - two rooms which are the same size, but the measured area is different.....

I just tested in and indeed 24 is different to 23.
Why - I don't know.

I just skimmed through the new features of 24 and saw nothing mentioned.
I also checked the reference manual for Project Preferences and saw nothing mentioned.
Looks like this is one to contact your local Archicad support people about.

Of course with a manual zone you can stretch it into the window reveals - which is not ideal.

Thank you very much for sharing your findings and I am very sorry for the experience!

I was able to reproduce the issue in Archicad 24. I'm not sure whether this is intended or it is a bug, thus we have open a support case in our system for further investigation. As soon as we have an answer I will let you know.

Perhaps something related to the "Relation To Zones" wall settings.
