If I understand right you clicked the Annotate button in the Schedule and placed those JPGs there.

Drawing data you create in a generated Viewpoint will not appear in a host file when the given project file is placed as a Hotlinked Module (HLM).

I mean, if this happened then everything you have drawn as fills, lines and annotations e.g in a Section Viewpoint would be propagated into a Section Viewpoint of the host file into which the file is placed as HLM.
The Interactive Schedule is a

I think the rule is that only the Floor Plan content goes through when placing HLMs.

Hi,

Based on an Eric Bobrow Aecbytes article; I've created an interactive legend in a regular pln file. I have placed that pln file into my target project file as a hot linked module file.

Problem:
1) No placed drawings (actually jpg's) in Interactive Legend file show up on HLM in the target project file.
I changed the drawing selection settings to "store drawing in project file", still no bananas.

Thanks,
Snap

Lazlo,

The jpg images are external drawings via >File >External Content. My "legend" is just a plain simple .pln file that I HLM into whatever file I'm working on to provide me with "visual shortcuts" to my usual stuff.

The actual working part of the legend, is a plan view wall element with a window in it, that is what I pick up (eyedropper) the attributes from. The missing image is just window dressing (ahem) to make it easier to see which window I am picking up. Perhaps I completely misunderstood what Bobrow was talking about and went down a different path.

Is it your thought that this should have been created as a schedule?
If so, could I use the eyedropper to pick up window/ door/ etc. attributes from the schedule? And BTW insert the schedule into any project?

Thanks,
Snap
PS I can in fact pick up attributes from my HLM "legend"even though the jpg is missing.

I am not completely familiar with the visual Favorites but I think you did it right.

I tried the same and it doesn't work for me either.
This is either a bug or intended operation or a limitation. I just don't know which one.

The interactive legend does not use a .jpg image for the elevation views. These are merely lines and fills taking from an ArchiCAD generated elevation then placed in plan along side the appropriate window plan view (which is live).

How unfortunate, argh!
OK, I think this is a limitation.

I placed a bitmap using the Figure Tool and that goes through to the host file as part of the Hotlinked Module.

This may have to do with the fact that a Figure becomes part of the Project File, while stuff placed with the Drawing Tool is an external reference and maybe this is why it can't appear in the host file.
