Do it in GDL.
Draw the 2D on the Floor Plan, then save it as an Object. Then place the object.
Check the Help files for additional info and Detailed Steps.

"BLOCK" - GDL - Hotlink ?

<T>I am looking to create a basic 2d "block" (as autocad calls it)

I want to be able to edit the "block" once and all instances of this be updated through out the project.

i would prefer not to have this as an externally linked file.

what have you found to be the best method to accomplish this?

thanks!</T>

laszlonagy wrote:
Draw the 2D on the Floor Plan, then save it as an Object.

When saving - since you did NOT want an externally linked file - be sure to use the default of saving into the embedded library (which is part of the project file itself).

Cheers,
