The normal case is that we get MEP fron MagiCAD and struct from Revit/Tekla. I'm tempted to create one translator+building material for the most common disciplines and let the BM override the IFC. This way, if everyone uses the correct translator that is..., the ventilation model would always be all red in 3D and the water would be blue as an example. It's beneficial for us to work the same way between projects since it makes it easier to balance staff resources.
