Hotlinked module question?

<T>Hi all,

in AC 11 i have a sort of problem with modules, i am working on a bit bigger building consisted of 2 towers and each of them have different story height, so i work both towers on separate modules and combine them all in one file through hotlinks,

tower 1 floor height: 3 m
tower 2 floor height: 5 m

but the problem is that if the height of stories in main file are say 3 m then when i insert the tower 2 module then each story of tower 2 file is elevated -2 meters???

- when i save the modules i use the option to save all stories from module file and walls are separate in each storey - not one wall for all stories.

is there a posibility that when certain module is placed on the project not to consider that projects story height but use its own storey height (module file storey height)???

any idea how to do this???

thanks in advance</T>

Nope, the modules always assume the master file storey height.

However, nothing stops you from manually positionig stuff where it should be in 3D.

Of course, watch out for the wall display. I hope everything is symbolic, and home storey only, as you will run out of plans pretty soon (one storey height is almost half the other one)

If you are using the master only for 3D views, you would be better off to convert the towers to objects. Otherwise, good luck!

i already did that by placing each storey and adjusting manually but thought maybe there's some other way to place the whole building in one shot ...

thnx for reply and advice Djordje
