1. the layers of the "referenced" or "hotlinked" file embeds themselves into the Project file; i usually have to manually delete them when i "detach" or "delete" the hotlink.
2. sometimes i JUST cannot hotlink a file; under the Hotlinks Manager > Status column, it will state "unused" when i try to create a New Link.

Hey,

In answer to your questions.

1. Unfortunately when a pln file is hotlinked the layers cannot be 'unbed' when the hotlink is removed. I also find this funny since if you use the xref command for a dwg file the layers are removed when the xref is deleted. Seems Graphisoft have there priorities in the wrong order!

2. This seems a bit strange but to ask the obvious, if the file or more importantly the storey has nothing on it the file will not be placed into the drawing. Other than this i am not sure.
newbie here.

any experts on the Hotlink Manager? i'm using it to reference other ArchiCAD projects into the current project. the two problems i encounter include:

1. the layers of the "referenced" or "hotlinked" file embeds themselves into the Project file; i usually have to manually delete them when i "detach" or "delete" the hotlink.
2. sometimes i JUST cannot hotlink a file; under the Hotlinks Manager > Status column, it will state "unused" when i try to create a New Link.

thanks in advance!
