<T>Hello all,

I was just starting a new project with 3 separate buldings. My plan is to have 4 files:
1 each for the buildings
1 for the site plan

I have created the site plan and hotlinked the 3 buildings into the site plan...everything comes in fine. When I goto the 3D window I notive that my solid element operations are not working. All of my walls are NOT being cut by my roofs.

Any thoughts on the problem here? I don't use hotlinks that often and do not know the ins and outs of hotlinks.

Do solid element operations not work with hotlinks? This does not seem likely...

TIA</T>

Sounds like your walls and roofs are on different stories. The roofs and walls must be on the same story. When you place modules story by story the SEO relationship is broken if the roof is on its own story.
Thanks for the reply Dan,

You nailed it.

Is there a better way to import multiple stories without losing anything and still have the imported items updatable?

You can also re-create the relationship after the modules are placed.

Tom,

How do I recreate the relationship? The imported modules are grouped and locked...yet all of my layers are on and unlocked.

Maybe you can point me to the appropriate section of ArchiCAD help. I would like to read up on this info.

Thanks!

They are grouped, yes, but they should not be locked. They might act locked if Groups are suspended, because you cannot move modules unless Groups are activated.

You can suspend groups and create any SEO relationships you want.
