<T>I am still using Archicad 18 and one of the new features I have noticed is the presence of a massive quantity of layers each with a code and a name. I am interested in understanding the coding behind the naming so that I can navigate the layers manager with more ease. Is there a reference or an article explaining all the codes? I have checked the online guide but I haven't been able to find anything.

PS: the codes I am referring to are things like: AF-19, AZ-8, etc...

thanks
Layer names are not part of ArchiCAD, but rather part of the file you are working on. If you started a fresh project from a Template in the start dialog - then those layer names were created for the Italian version of ArhicCAD and you would have to contact Graphisoft Italy to ask them what their logic is. The USA template uses entirely different layer names... as does the INT (International) version, for example.

If you opened a file that you received from someone else...then those layer names come from that person.

Paopao:

Click on the File menu while holding down the Option key, New... will change to New & Reset All, this will open a blank template file.
I have just deleter the whole content and overwrote the original Archicad template. Probably opening the template overwrote the original Archicad blank template.

Paopao:

In the US version, the templates are at: Applications > Graphisoft > ArchiCAD 18 > Defaults > ArchiCAD; you could try opening the template directly. You could ask another Italian user for the template. You can install ArchiCAD again to a new location (I would use the Desktop), then move the newly installed template file to its correct location in the Applications > ... > ArchiCAD folder.
