wok environment switches to custom

Hello!
I have my own work environment customized to my needs.
All my schemes stored in work environment are named marko (my name).
Problems is after I assign my work environment and press OK, I go back to settings and I can see that palette scheme and work environment scheme is set to custom. Even though setting in custom and marko scheme are the same, sometimes it turns off some of my settings (show tracker gets turned off), and after restart quick layers palette disappears.

what should I do?

This has been the case through multiple AC versions, but the settings are correct, so don't worry about it.

The Tracker getting turned off is a bug, some use a menu command or toolbar button to turn it back on easily.

That is great, but is there any way to have a button or keyboard shortcut to switch on "quick layers" palette?

The quick layers palette does not work with the Work Environment, if you search for quick AND layers AND palette you will find threads such as:
Quick Layers Palette ... wont stick with WE

just tried it in AC 16, and position of quick layers are stored in WE settings.

It is dockable in 15 but doesn't seem to remember if it was turned on when you shut down and restart.
You can set up a tool bar button in the work environment to quickly switch it on or off.
The default keyboard shortcut should be "ALT-Q" on Windows.

I do know that it is dockable in AC15, it was possible in AC14 and so on. But the problem was that it was not remembered by WE.
alt+Q I use for intersect.

If you go into the repository and look under work environments, you'll find one that says it has setup a non-disappearing Quick Layers pallet. Don't know what they did to do that but you could download it, install it, and investigate.

it's a know bug. what you can do is add a keyboard shortcut or a icon to some other existing toolbars to turn on quick layers toolbar. quite silly, i know.

but personally i find the quick layer commands one of the most useful and commonly used tools and i have assigned keyboard shortcuts to every item in there without even needing the toolbar itself.

actually, what i have done is even more interesting, so i would like to share this, though maybe a bit off-topic. after customizing all the most used commands, i virtually run out of normal keyboard shortcuts and it's not possible to memorise if cmd-ctrl-shift-S is assigned to "set home zoom" or "send backward" or what have you. so i was looking for system that can simulate autocad style commands where you have to type in first few letters of the command to distinguish it from the rest of the commands beginning with the same letters, so one wouldn't have to remember all the tedious keyboard shortcuts possible. i found few workarounds to achieve this on mac. programs like quickeys, keyboard maestro etc came to help where you can use abbreviations to type in shortcuts, press menu items or buttons etc. so now for example typing in "irl"(invert reference line) executes design menu>modify wall>reference line, clicks invert all sides and simulates pressing enter to close the wall reference line window, without having to use the mouse at all. of course it took some time to set this all up in quickeys, but without a need to use the mouse for going through endless menus and windows and buttons, i think it payed off in a week or so and has really improved my speed in archicad. it's much more simple to memorise that typing "sf" means sun off and "sn" turns sun on in 3d or that i can even change layer combination to "render" or "work" layer combination by just typing in "re" or "wr"! or "em" to edit hotlink modules or "um" to update selected module etc etc. all of this usually means opening a number of windows from the menus and making a numerous clicks. i wish this could be an integrated option in archicad to be less mouse dependant, because this really slows us down. sorry for the off-topic again.

I have found that there is also another issue with the quick layer pallet and that is that it is a slightly different size the the other pallets.
You could do what I have done and create a layer pallet from scratch yourself in the work environment. then there will be no more issues with it dropping out.
