Layers won't delete

I can't delete layers created from an imported or merged Autocad drawing from a surveyor. They list below my main customised layer list, under a horizontal dividing line. They have names like '376502|1_Traverse' and there are dozens, perhaps 100, of them. After selecting them in my layer box, the Delete option is greyed out. I'll try to attach my example.

How can I get rid of them?

The text to the left of the vertical bar, 376502, is the file name of an XREF. If you delete the XREF, in the xref manager, these layers should go away by themselves.

Sounds good. However, when I open the XRef Manager, there is no XRef in it - i.e. there is nothing to delete. Have I missed something?

I see this is an old thread, but am hoping someone can still assist. I've experienced the same issue as KeesW:

- Layers are from an imported AutoCAD file via xref
- They are listed below my main list, separated by a horizontal dividing line
- When I select them, I'm unable to delete them
- The layers appear to be empty
- My xref manager is also empty

Any suggestions how I can go about deleting the stray layers?

I'm using ArchiCAD 22 on Mac

This probably means the XREF has been selected and deleted directly from the plan, rather than via the XREF manager.

No matter, you should be able to use the Attribute Manager to delete these layers.
List them by name in the attribute manager and they should all group together.
