A resolution to this issue hasn't been found, as tech support weren't able to recreate the scenario. The problem appears randomly.

A second project had the issue of sections set to show new & existing elements, the wall linings (not the whole wall) were being intersected by the demolished building that was hidden. No view settings were changed.
This was able to be worked around by isolating layers, but the problem was still the same - the saved view & view on layout were changing on their own.

layer combination changes

<T>I am having an issue in a number of files, since upgrading to AC17.

I am looking through layouts, and say I go to an elevation or a section page and 1 out of 4 of the drawings updates then looks wrong because it's somehow changed layer combination (the right one is set in the view).

I open that particular view and the layer combo is still wrong. I have to open another elevation/section then go back the wrong one and it is fine. Or I have to manually switch the layer combo.</T>

If you right click on the drawing and select 'Modify source View Settings...' and change the layer combo in the following dialog box, it should stick.

Try it and let us know how you get on.

Cheers,
See this is the thing. I do that, the layer combo is set for the view but then seems to change sometimes on it's own. Sometimes I go from the layout to the view and it changes back to show the correct layer combo, sometimes not until I flick through various views does the one I want show the right layer combo. Maybe a bug somewhere?

Well that is certainly not normal. I would shoot an email to David Shorter or Australian Tech Support.
