Your scenario sounds like the Base/File1 is your template and File3 is perhaps an active project? Or, maybe they are all related files that are hotlinked together and so need to have their attributes kept in sync.

The only method that I know of is to use Attribute Manager to export your updated attributes from File3 and then import them into File1. If the updates concern other items, then it can be helpful to have two copies of AC open at once and copy/paste between File3 and File 1.

Thanks Karl, that's what I suspected. I will keep copying and pasting between files. thanks for the answer.

Linking files and editing: How?

<T>Here is my problem: I have a "base file" and other deriving from it. I sometimes need to change the base file - I normally realise about correction working on the other files which are the same base but with more layers. Is there a way I can link the files so that anytime I make a change in one it reflects on the other as well?
Here is the structure :
Base ------> File1
-------> File2
--------> File 3

If I change something in let's say File3, I would like the change to be updated in Base as well.

thanks for your help, it would speed up my work.
