Zones with different materials

How can I apply different materials to different Zones?

eg. I want Zone 1 on layer x with material y and Zone 2 on layer a with material b.

I just can't get it to do it, whenever I change the material for any zone it changes it for all the zones.

Up to 11 you could do it individually, selecting the Zone/s, from the zone tool settings. I hope that didn't change in 12.

In AC12 the Zone material can be individually set in Model tab of the Zone Settings dialog as per previous versions. You can set a material for the whole zone, or inherit the materials of the surrounding walls (and trimming elements; columns, roofs, SEOs, etc).

The Zone Color (that shows up on floor plan) is set per Zone Category in the Options> Element Attributes> Zone Categories dialog.
