Yes, I know.
I return to the Floor Plan with the Open Source View command, and lock and hide the zone layer. It's perfect. But when I return to the Layout the layer unlock and show the stamps. Then I return to floor plan again and it is showing the stamps.
I need to save the new settings? Here can I save it??
Thanks

That would be "turned off" when translated from AutoCAD to Archicad speak.

No I wouldn't, but I think you're probably correct. I have been using Archicad full time for 6 years, and have used Zones once.

The zone stamps is hide in the model with this command, and in the new sheet's that i create.
But all the old ones, the stamp is still visible.
Is there another solution??
So, whaddya use for room names that automatically generates a finish schedule, and that updates square footage? Is there something that works better? Or something you've created? or d'ya just use text and Excel?

Room names are just text, and we very rarely measure areas of individual spaces. I know, it ain't BIM.

But you can do this too for areas... Link's tip

Eh... I'm just lazy, and find that building finish schedules is too tedious. I really wish the zone tool would show general dimensions also, instead of just area. The update would save me TONS of time and tedious effort during Schematic Design.

If you go to the Layer Settings Dialog in the Layout Book then that will affect 2D drawing elements placed onto the Layout itself. It does not affect elements within a Drawing placed onto the Layout.

If you select the Drawing on the Layout and right-click, the Context Menu appears and you select the Open Source View command from the context menu, ArchiCAD will go back to the Floor Plan viewpoint and will set the settings the Drawing is seen in the Layout.
Note that when you place a Drawing on the Layout, its source is always a View: a View is a viewpoint with saved settings of Layer Combination, Pen Set, Scale etc. So you will need to modify the Layer Combination used in the View on which the Drawing placed on the Layout is based.
I hope this makes sense.

The problem is that when you return to the Floor Plan, the layer shows.
See, Drawing that is placed on that Layout has a source. That source is a View. Now, Views are found in the View Map part of the Navigator. The Floor Plan is a viewpoint. If you save a View, that will be a viewpoint with specific settings, including scale, Layer Combination, Pen Set etc. The source of a Drawing placed on a Layout is always a View, never a Viewpoint. In other words, its source is a View of the Floor Plan Viewpoint located in the View Map, and not the Floor Plan Viewpoint.
So you will have the find in the View Map the View that is the source of the Drawing and change the settings of the View. Or save another View and place that View onto the Layout.
If you select the Drawing on the Layout and go to the Drawing Settings Dialog, it will tell you in the "ArchiCAD view" filed of the Identification panel exactly where in the View Map the source View of the Drawing is located.
