Well, if they were showing up there, sure, I can now see how that could be done. But they aren't there.
This will bring in the layers, but not the layer combinations. And beware - it will also bring in other attributes like pen sets and linetypes!
Thanks for the warning!
Importing Master Layouts & Templates Into v10

<T>How do I bring the master layouts from the default v10 template into a v10 file I started another way? I started the project in v9 with another template and none of the default master layouts, and I'd like to use them.

Also, is there a way to completely change the template of an existing project, or to apply parts of a new template to an existing project?

I'm seeing a lot of settings in the default v10 template that I would like to apply to the current project in addition to the master layouts, and I'm not having much luck trying to transfer the drawings into a new file and keeping things like layers and layer combinations intact. If I could somehow just select the new template and overlay it, it seems that that should solve all of these problems. Or would it?

Basically, I want to keep the existing layers and layer combinations, but access the layout book setup and master layouts, and hopefully keep the links between the project manager and layout sides the way the default has it. I'm having a very hard time figuring this whole new setup out.
As Djordje said in the other thread, you need to open the Organizer. Do this via the Project Chooser button in the top left corner of your Navigator, or by Window > Palettes > Organizer.

Then you can use the Project Chooser in the Organizer, select Browse... and open up the project that contains the Masters you need. With the left pane of the Organizer showing the layout book of the 'master. file, and the right pane of the Orgnaizer showing the layout book of your current file, you can simply drag the Master(s) from left to right.

This will bring in the layers, but not the layer combinations. And beware - it will also bring in other attributes like pen sets and linetypes!

Cheers,
I'd need to see a screenshot to help you any further I think. AFAIK it is impossible for a project not to have at least one Master, so I can't understand how this is not working if you're following along perfectly.

Cheers,
