Perhaps you are placing your dimensions all on one layer.  You don't have to do this.  Place the dimensions on the same layer as the element to which they relate. Alternatively, if you need the flexibility to be able to choose whether the dimensions are visible independently of the elements, then create several different layers, appropriately named to classify different sets of dimensions.  You will need to create layer groups to suit.</description>

      <description>Not sure what the problem is but dimensions go on any layer you choose and you can control what is visible via the view sets</description>

The Quick Layers Palette will help.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
From the Menus at the top of your screen select &lt;B&gt;Windows &lt;/B&gt;then &lt;B&gt;Palettes&lt;/B&gt; then &lt;B&gt;Quick Layers&lt;/B&gt;.</description>

Sounds like you may want to consider placing your foundations on a separate story - then you can keep your dimensions on the same layer. Is that feasible?&lt;BR /&gt;
