topic X-refs in Archicad 6.5 vs. 8.1 in Project data & BIM

<T>We completed a project in Archicad 6.5 that used a number of x-refs. We are now using Archicad 8.1 and when I open these .pln files created in 6.5 the x-refs do not show up in the x-ref manager even though all of the layers are present and appear just fine. We are trying to save the .pln as a .dwg but it doesn't seem to work with the x-refs attached. I have been deleting the x-ref layers and then saving the file as .dwg as a way around it but I'd like to know if there is something that has happened to make the x-refs disappear from the manager.

Thanks for your help!
We using Archicad 8.1 on Mac G5s with OSX v.10.3.1</T>

If I remember right, the xref was new in 6.5. maybe they changed some things behind the facade in newer versions.
If you have a computer with 6.5 (or perhaps also 7.0), I would reccommend to
- open it there and find out, which files were placed by hotlink and where they are placed in the floor plans on which height and so on.
- maybe place some hotspots for easier placement
- then delete the hotlinks,
- save the file (new name!) in 6.5
- open it again in 8.1 and
- place the hotlinks again

ok, double work, but the results should be good.
