<T>Have a drawing with text in it. I use the detail tool, create a new detail, open it, and voila, the text is gone. Layer is on, drawing order is not an issue that I can tell, nothing will get the text to show up. Any help there?</T>

This would be considered a feature of the detail tool. The text and dimensions do not transfer from the plan view to the detail view as the notation would typically be different in each view.

I find this to be an unfortunate limitation of the detail tool. Not exactly a bug but certainly not a feature. It is particularly strange with library parts where the lines and fills show in the detail but not the text. Since annotations can be turned off by layers, I don't see any advantage to this limitation.

This is one of the things that makes the detail tool unsuitable for enlarged plans. I really do like the tool for what it can do, but I am also very much looking forward to when it can do more.

I always like to know the underlying rationale for some of the "features". I'm sometimes not sure if things are supposed to act the way they do.
