topic Missing Text etc in Elevation in Project data & BIM

<T>I created an elevation a few weeks ago, and went to reopen it today.

All the work done in the elevation in missing, such as text, lines, etc.

This has only happened to one of the elevations, but a lot of work to recreate.

I have switched on all layers and still nothing shows up, except for the house itself.

I still have my next to final copy in PMK from plotmaker. Is there a way to take the data that is missing from the PMK file and get it back into AC.

I am using Windows version of Archicad - 8.0 and Plotmaker 3.0

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks, Grant</T>

I don't know what happened to you, but I did see some strange behavior in section windows in AC5. Your problem could be due to using 8.0. I strongly recommend getting ArchiCAD 8.1 as soon as possible. It's a free upgrade.

Just as a double check. check to see if there is another section with the same name. Sometimes an inadvertent CTRL D+ can duplicate it and because the navigator is so hard to see all the text it gets hidden in with the rest.

Thanks for the feedback, but no luck with a duplicate section.

Very frustrating problem. I do have 8.1 but I am concerned about using it with existing projects.

Thanks again,
I would be more concerned with using 8.0 at all. I have been using 8.1 since early beta with very few problems, whereas 8.0 caused serious problems all the way through v3 (much less later on; v1 was a disaster for me).

There is no down side to switching to 8.1 and many advantages. The only thing I might be careful about would be switching projects that are nearly complete from 7.0. Even version 7 projects with substantial work remaining I would go ahead and switch to 8.1.

Do not delay! You are just causing yourself more problems by sticking with 8.0.
