Yes, these would be great to be collected as a set of wishes.
Until then, you can only set the Layer-layer conversion page in the Translator setup. Makes sure you use this in a Translator used for opening DXF-DWG files. AC might get confused which layer to import to out of the fifty or so layer pairs you define here, where the ArchiCAD layer is always 'ArchiCAD-miscellaneous'

<T>How do you set up the Translator so that every non-standard layer in a DWG file is placed on an ArchiCAD miscellaneous layer? Our AutoCAD standard had a couple hundred layers in it, so I can program those correctly, but what about freak layers that people have made up?</T>

As far as I can see, there is no such function.

It would be handy though. Something like "All Other Layers..." which could put them all on the same layer as you suggest, or add "xxx" to the beginning of the layer name, or set them all to a florescent pink pen, or whatever.

I would like to see them incorporate wildcard characters. * for "match any number of characters", and ? for "match any single character". Then you could use a plain asterisk to denote all other layers. Of course, it would have to process complete names first, partial names second, and the lone asterisk last.

If we really sat down and thought about it for a while, there are probably all sorts of handy data merge & translation functions that would be nice.

This is a wish I personally passed on directly to Graphisoft HQ again last month. Hopefully it will make into an upcoming version!

Fingers crossed!

Cheers,
