topic Merging PLN files in Project data & BIM

<T>Hello -
I seem to have a corrupt .PLN file. When importing into PlotMaker, I get an error message - "Not enough memory to complete operation". I've been working in the file for a few weeks, as well as the related .LBK file w/no problems. The view I'm trying to import contains only a few lines and some text - no monster memory zapping images. I've tried recreating the view in Navigator and re-importing and still get the error message. I've trashed the preferences, tried working on copies of the files, etc... and no go. I have enough memory in my machine (1GB).

So my question is . . . What is the easiest to merge the contents of my seemingly corrupted file into a new, "New and Reset" file? I tried a quick and dirty test and the import that wasn't working before worked fine after the test merge. It seems that a few things get lost in the transition. My whole navigator setup doesn't come thru, and my layer combos are a little wacky as well and any extra drawing done in the section/elev. windows are lost. Is there a smoother recovery path?

Thanks,
Tom</T>

i would dup the original .pln file, delete everything, and try a merge. I have had a similar problem and this worked for me.
Thanks, I gave that a whirl and still got that same darn error message "Not enough memory to complete the operation". Oh how I love spending time troubleshooting.
Ahhh -
It only took me all day to track down but. . . there was an image that was blank or set to transparent or something (that was a monster) that was present and causing the problem. I found it by accident - I selected everything and noticed some random selection points that didn't seem to belong to anything. The image wasn't showing any "handles" so I had no idea it was there. That's why copy/paste or merge into a new file didn't work - because the offending image was still there. At least I've got closure!
