Another option would be to hotlink the model content into a copy of the file containing the layout book, therefore having a third file for BIMx, which can be updated as the project evolves.

I recently divided a single (AC 22) pln file into two pln files (file size exceeded recommended limit) -- one for the model and one for the layouts. I cannot figure out a way to publish a single bimx file, so that model and drawings are in one file and viewers/users can navigate between the model and drawings easily.

Are there any known solutions? Thank you

This would be possible to do if you created a third file, only for BIMx publishing purposes, where you merge both the model content and the layout book or if you didn't separate the two, but used the Layout Workflow with PMK files according to this article: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/77093/
Unfortunately there is no easy way at the moment to "federate" two BIMx files.
