VBE appears to only offer transparency.

It is long overdue for some bug fixing and enhancements. Would love to hear from GS as to if either will happen some time soon.

<T>Does anyone know if VBe supports alpha channels for other than straight transparency?

I need to set up materials so the user can change the color with the image serving as an overlay texture and/or bump map. Currently I can only get full transparency maps like chainlink fence and such.

Curiously the VBe manual says that alpha channels are only supported with BMP, TGA and TIF files but I am getting the same results with these types as I am with native PSD (Photoshop) files.

I have only tried this on Mac so far. Is there a difference on Windows?</T>

Thanks for the quick reply Karl. I was afraid that was the answer. My client will be quite disappointed. I'll see if I can get any word out of GS on the subject.
