<T>I've installed the 30 day trial of AC15, and I notice the installation includes something called BIMx for AC15 which appears to be quite similar if not identical to VBE.

I cannot find any information about this in my initial perusing of the documentation. Does anyone have additional insight to share about BIMx and how we might benefit from this?</T>

YES, it is the old VBE, renamed to BIMx.
