I know GDL is, for now, time consuming, and maybe that's why there are not that many good scripted open and free objects around; but for me GDL equals satisfaction once the object works, and the parametric capabilities are far beyond compared to other programs. If more people could get involved in learning GDL, the AC community would have a great benefit. These types of objects may help others realize that scripting is not that hard, and throw away the concept of "I'm and architect... not a programmer"
Hmmm, Its a sad day when you realize efforts might be in vain... how to list the quantity of objects, plugs, switches etc. in a schedule. Is there a way? Well i guess is there a way to do so with the pictures of the objects.

edit:

well i found a way to make a schedule with in the object itself for now. any ideas on how to make the PICTURE2 into a parameter? that would be all i need to make the schedule work..

well i lied. kinda a bummer. im sure there is a way to do it. but until i find it i probably wont continue working on this object, as there would be no point for its purpose.

It's not hard to achieve.
You need to have the file of the picture as parameter.
In the glob_context of schedule the 2D symbol will be the picture.
In the schedule you show the 2D symbol.
In this way you get the picture in the schedule.
That's it.
Hope it helps.

Depends on what the content is and how you want it to schedule.
You can count how many of each and pass them to a parameter, then it could be scheduled.
Of course, schedule would get quantities per object. In this case, if there is an object per zone, the schedule could pick that up; otherwise you would need to place a single object in the whole project so there is a single count of everything.
Best regards.

So after much debate i decided i can have the object show the electrical components for each room in plan view, just as an option to show the exact count of plugs, switches, etc. I just finished back porting my newest version to ac 17. still has a couple bugs but its pretty cool now. Ill try to post a video in the next couple days and an object (unlocked) shortly after that.
