Odd that this comes up today - I am having problems with doors too (in AC16). They are not forming the opening in the wall. I can copy an existing door and it is o.k., but if I pick up the properties of an existing one and place a new door it does not work. Same with windows. Also a colleague of mine was having trouble with doors in Projected walls not displaying at all (had to change wall to Symbollic). Have closed Archicad and re-started, but will try a full computer restart too.

door tool stopped working!?

<T>can anyone think of a reason my door tool has stopped working? i can go through the entire process, selecting inside vs outside, then clicking for door swing direction, but then nothing happens...

it worked fine until 20 minutes ago. now i cannot seem to make doors in ANY of my walls in this document. i can place windows and other objects, just not doors.

i made a blank new document, added a few walls and the door tool works fine in there.

could my document be corrupt? or did i enable some strange setting that's preventing it from working?

freaking out and my deadline approaches.

thanks,
weird. turns out they're not playing nicely with the story they're supposed to be on. they were showing up under the building.

now they're being super fidgety about what story they'll show up on.

now sure what the heck i did, but it must have been something.

how can i return this thing to normal behaviour?

Found the answer to my problem - for some reason on a new build job the doors had changed to Demolished renovation status. Another reason why the syringe should pick up the renovation status too.

Is this your solution too?

mmmarto:

One thing to check is the Door's Anchor in Door Settings > Preview and Positioning > Anchors:. This could be set to the wrong story, or have a negative value.
