topic Duplicate object from main library in Libraries & objects

<T>So I downloaded an object from the web, through the object selection settings. The object was downloaded and embedded.
Except that it has the same name as an object in the main link library.
ie Gutter 17.
The 2 objects have different properties, but I want to use the new one. This means I get an error message about duplicate objects. Because the new object is embedded I can't rename it.
I can't rename the object in the linked library, and I don't want to delete the linked library.
Any tips?</T>

The easiest way I think would be to open your embedded object (CTRL+SHIFT+O).
Then "Save As" with a new name.
It will still be in your embedded library.
Now delete the original (in Library manager) - but if you have already placed some instances you will want to select them first (one at a time because they probably have different lengths and/or heights), then go into the object settings and find the new gutter object.
But before you click it to swap it, hold CTRL+ALT (i.e. the syringe) and then click on the new object and all your original settings will be passed over to it.
