I just wanted to confirm that Laszlo has reached us with this particular issue. Back with the previous versions there was the Save 3D Window as... command that could result the cut object. Starting from ArchiCAD 17 we have now the Save selection As... option, which helps in many cases, but not in this one.

We are checking at the moment how we could implement the old way with the new set of available commands. Until then, please use the SEO trick.

<T>Hey.....we used to be able to take an object, cut it with the marqueee, then save that piece throught the 3D windows an another new object. That seems to have been lost? Or has it.

Thanks Tom</T>

Hm, this looks like a bug to me.
I managed to save it, the 2D of the saved object reflected the cut, but its 3D did not. I did it with the latest 4008 build of AC17.
I will report this to GS.

Works here if the cut is made with SEO rather than Marquee, for a quick work around.
