topic Catching parameter's state prior to editing in Libraries & objects

<R>Does anyone have a technique for catching the state of a hot-spot-editable parameter prior to editing it?

I need to capture the width of a window object prior to stretching it to then compensate for its position as AC insists of expanding it symmetrically from the centre point.

(I know this is to do with deriving A from within the script but am loath to re-write it right now!)</R>

It''s got hotspots up the wazoo! Including the corners in 3d and 2d.
Hey I think I got it... I'll use the stack!
...no. I reckon it'll just fill up with the new Length as it redraws, executing the master script each refresh.
Is there a guide that explains how and when the different script sections (eg parameter script) run?... Off to archicad wiki.
