<T>I am trying to find the on-off parameter for the plan display of minimal space for the plumbing objects. I'm on V14 EDU at a tertiary institute.</T>

J S Shelton:

Look under Model View Options > Options for GDL Objects (ArchiCAD 14) > Show Minimum Space of Furnishings and Doors.

If you are using 14, then your signature needs an update.
Maybe the plumbing fixtures have separate settings.
I was supposing he is using the MEP Modeler and those may have a separate panel in the MVO Dialog.
