Not directly with just a GDL object.

You could place an object but you would have to stretch its nodes manually.

An add-on could be written though that would use the co-ordinates from a fill and create the object shape using thoes co-ordinates.

The "slab accessories" are an example of this.
They get the co-ordinates of a selected slab an apply an object to the perimeter (a footing for example).

So if you can create your own add-ons or you know someone that can (I can't) then you could be on to a winner.
GDL object to inherit coordinate data?

<T>Hi All,
I assume the answer is "NO", but the possibility
could be awesome...
Q:
Can a GDL object, upon placing on the plan,
inherit 2D/3D co-ordinates of the entity it is placed on?
Ex:
An object is placed within a FILL, gets its coordinates in XY,
then generates a simple building model with setbacks
based upon the geometry of the fill etc?

I am starting an urban project for a 100,000 person township,
and was thinking this could be usefull.

Cheers,

Gil R.</T>

I've used the mesh tool before to create simple urban massing. This can be magic wanded in to an existing 2d line drawing. It does require you to add nodes for slanted roofs though.
