go through the window settings and look for places where the fill shows a '?'

You probably have 1 or 2.

<T>I just upgraded to AC 14 and am in the process of converting a AC 10 project to AC 14 and am getting no fewer than 4 error messages when I display a converted window in either 3D or elevation. See an example of the type of error message in screen shot below. Any suggestions?</T>

Or, use the new Find & Select criterion available in AC14 which will find you library parts with missing attributes.
You will then need to look over the Fill parameters of these for "MISSING" values. You will have to set those to another value.
You may want to do this Find & Select in the 3D Window with only Windows shown and with all layers visible so the affected elements on all layers and stories will be shown and you may modify those affected parameters in one step.
