Search AC help for Gravity. It places things exactly onto terrain per your wish.
Also works on slabs and roofs. No need for GDL.
Note: Once a object is placed you can no longer use gravity.

Or do you specifically want to do this in GDL?

Terrain heights in arbitary points by GDL?

<T>Terrain tool recognizes it´s height in arbitary points. For example with certain options you can place an object in plan wiew and get it on the right level corresponding to the terrain.
Now is it possible in GDL to calculate arbitary heights from the code of a terrain (mass -command)? It would be nice to put things like trees and cars automatically on the right level in gdl-object. Some kind of algorithm must exist. It´s easy to find the nearest terrain point of the given xy -point and use it´s z-value, but that is too rough sometimes.</T>

Yes, I certainly want to use it in GDL. It´s handy if You can put multiple trees or people in one object and move them inside object so that they recognize terrain. If the trerrain is a rectangular grid, then it´s easy, but triangulated unregular grid is difficult.
