You can create any shaped/design window that you like by modeling and saving the result as a window object.

The historic way of doing this is described here (and via the links to more details):

https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Design-articles/How-to-create-Custom-Window/ta-p/303432

The newer way, which gives more parametric results is Library Part Maker:

https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Design-articles/Library-Part-Maker-Now-in-All-Localized-Archicad-Versions/ta-p/339144

There seems to be nothing special about your window other than the shading device that is inside the glass envelope? I would think that including that within your model might create more problems than it might solve.

Correct. Normal windows do not include window shades, although it is possible that the localized library for some country specific versions of Archicad do so.

Of course, you can also model the window shade as a separate object and insert it where desired inside the window cavity. This would require resizing and moving it as necessary if the window is resized or moved since it would be an independent object. This would make more sense to me anyway since you could turn its layer off for renderings where you need sun to shine into a room, etc. The shade could be modeled with a complex profiled beam or wall, or with a Morph.
