WALL_CROSSSECTION_TYPE might be what I am looking for.
Not sure why I didn't see that one.
Thanks.

Just tested it and it seems to be working.

<T>Is there a GLOBAL variable or REQUEST to determine if a window is in a standard, composite or complex profile wall?
I know I can get the wall name but I really need the wall type.

Barry.

PS I tried posting on the GDL Center forum but nothing was going through there.
Maybe because of all the spam it has been getting lately.</T>

WALL_COMPS_NAME ?
But I think, you cannot determine, if it is complex or composite.

There might be a better way, but you could use a combination of globals.

WALL_COMPS_NAME
string = name of the composite or complex structure of the wall
empty string = basic type

WALL_SKINS_NUMBER
number = number of composite or complex wall skins
0 = basic type

WALL_CROSSSECTION_TYPE
0 = complex profiled
1 = rectangular
2 = slanted
3 = double slanted
